For the first time in almost 3,500 years, this is your chance to see and hear ancient Egyptian love songs brought back to life from the time of Pharaoh Ramses the Great and Queen Nefertari.

Dr. Köpp-Junk is an Egyptologist with the German Archaeological Institute Cairo—as well as a classically trained, three-octave mezzosoprano known internationally for her concert, radio and television appearances.

She will first present an academic lecture about Pharaonic love songs, including where they were found, who composed and performed them, where and how they were performed, instruments used, and what is known about vocal interpretation.

Dr. Köpp-Junk will then perform live several enchanting, ancient love songs and recitals translated from the original papyri—while playing a replica Egyptian lute from New Kingdom Egypt (18th Dynasty).
